Completed the International Baccalaureate program at Old Scona Academic High School which is often recognized as one of the best high schools in Canada and one of the top I.B. World Schools

Honours biochemistry degree at the University of Alberta

Received Masters of Science Degree in Orthodontics at the University of Toronto

Dental degree from the University of Toronto

Was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a North American Dental Honors Society for being amongst the top students in his dental school class

Completed the hospital residency program at Harvard University where Dr. Chen gained valuable experience in the treatment and management of medically compromised patients

Was a staff instructor at both Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston

Fellowship at the Craniofacial Treatment and Research Centre at the Hospital for Sick Children

Staff orthodontist in the Division of Orthodontics at the  Hospital for Sick Children where he provides care for children with cleft lip and palate or other craniofacial anomalies


INNOVATION WITH EXPERIENCE 

One of Dr. Chen's most rewarding experiences while in his orthodontic program was his dental mission to Venezuela with Kindness in Action. There he had the opportunity to team up with other dental professionals to provide treatment for orphans, homeless and other underprivileged youth. 


INVOLVEMENT 

Dr. Chen's memberships include the Canadian Association of Orthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Ontario Association of Orthodontists, the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honours Dental Society, the American Cleft Palate – Craniofacial Association and is a Fellow and Examiner of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. As such Dr. Chen devotes many days each year to continuing education seminars, study clubs, and conferences in order to keep up to date on the latest techniques.

 

Our Dr. Chen is also proud to be a founding member of Discovr Dental Study Group. The study club was developed with the aspiration of strengthening the dental community of the Vaughan region by upholding two basic tenets of success: the will to learn, and the desire to connect with like-minded people. AWAY FROM THE OFFICE

Dr. Chen enjoys spending time with good friends, family and most importantly with his wife Cindy, his son Aiden and his daughter Chloe. Also as a Vaughan resident in Maple, Dr. Chen enjoys volunteering in the community, supporting local teams and sponsoring school scholarships. When time permits, he fits in as much skiing, cycling, long-distance running and travel as he can.
